Sensirion: UX & database design

Situation

Sensirion is a leading producer of microsensing solutions that, after its foundation in Switzerland, is scaling its operations globally. The company grew out of a ETH spin-off that developed a patented technology to fuse sensor technology and evaluation electronics onto a tiny chip.

Task

Development of a sales platform to support Sensirion's global operations and digitize relevant processes. Having grown organically, Sensirion also needed to bring its brand up to date with digital requirement to enable the development of an effective sales platform.

Approach

In a pre-project, we laid the foundation for the sales platform by conducting user research, as well as UX and scoping workshops.

In addition to UX artefacts for the website, we designed process flows and established a comprehensive product database for Sensirion's close to 300 products in multiple product lines.

We then developed the information architecture and wireframing for the website, the digital branding, as well as UX writing.

Result

Development of corporate site in four languages, including the newly established product catalog and checkout process. Scalable setup for subsidiaries and local branches. Follow-on orders for parent and subsidiaries.
