Building of a startup brand and product from the ground up. Development of a uniquely user-friendly blockchain wallet that is distributed both as a B2B and B2C solution.

Challenge

Pier is a Swiss blockchain startup focused on solving the usability challenges of Web3 wallets. While blockchain technology offers security and decentralization, most wallets remain complex and inaccessible to the average user. Pier set out to change that by developing a seamless, user-friendly solution that simplifies blockchain interactions for both individuals and businesses.

The goal was to create a blockchain wallet that eliminates friction in key processes such as account recovery, transaction fees, and Web3 integration. By enhancing usability and accessibility, Pier aimed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and decentralized systems, making blockchain technology more practical for everyday use.

Results

The outcome was a fully developed blockchain wallet that balances security with ease of use. The stand-alone app and Wallet-as-a-Service model have been successfully deployed in diverse environments, including a sports tracking application and Europe’s largest hip-hop festival. By removing barriers to entry, Pier is making blockchain more accessible, expanding its adoption, and positioning itself at the forefront of Web3 innovation.

Approach

To ensure an intuitive and effective product, we conducted in-depth user research, including qualitative interviews and persona development, to understand the needs and pain points of both B2B and B2C users. A refined UX strategy and user flow guided the design, making blockchain interactions simpler and more efficient.

Brand development and content strategy were integral to creating a compelling identity that positioned Pier as an industry leader. Usability testing throughout the MVP phase allowed for iterative improvements, ensuring that the final platform delivered a seamless and engaging experience.
