Optim​ization of the website and third party content management processes for the Swiss Arts Council initiative that promotes Swiss performing arts companies abroad.

Challenge

The Swiss Performing Arts Selection, an initiative by Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council, promotes Swiss dance, theatre, and performing arts on a global stage. Representing the Swiss Confederation, Pro Helvetia operates across seven international branches, supporting artists and cultural exchange worldwide.

To strengthen its impact, the platform needed an overhaul. Directors and curators of performing arts required a more intuitive way to discover Swiss performing arts companies, stay informed about current and upcoming work, and engage with artists. The goal was to optimize the website’s structure, streamline content management, and enhance its promotional reach

Results

The redesigned platform improved artist visibility with a seamless search and booking experience, making it easier for curators to find and engage with performers. A more intuitive content management system simplified updates and reduced friction for administrators, ensuring efficiency at scale. With a more engaging and structured experience, the platform now serves as a stronger bridge between Swiss performing artists and the international stage, reinforcing Switzerland’s cultural influence worldwide.

Approach

We focused on refining the user experience by developing detailed personas and mapping user journeys to better align the platform with the needs of curators and decision-makers. Wireframing helped reimagine the site’s layout, ensuring clarity and ease of navigation. A strategic content approach, paired with UX-focused copywriting, strengthened engagement and made key information more accessible. By simplifying complex workflows and enhancing discoverability, the platform became a more powerful tool for connecting artists with global opportunities.
